VeryDarkMan Reacts as Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Viral Fake Tinubu AI Voice Note

Social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reacted to the recent arrest of a young man allegedly linked to a viral AI-generated voice note involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a video shared online, VDM questioned the arrest, insisting that the individual being circulated is also innocent and may have been wrongly identified. He argued that authorities should carry out a proper and thorough investigation before taking enforcement actions.

VDM stated that security agencies have the capacity and technical tools to trace the actual source of the controversial audio, instead of arresting individuals based on assumptions or online claims. He added that while the arrested person may deserve punishment if found guilty, the focus should be on identifying who originally created and distributed the viral content.

He also referenced claims circulating online suggesting that the person shown in some viral posts may not be responsible, noting that a blogger had earlier linked the material to a different individual.

The development comes after the Presidency and presidential aides intensified calls for action over the alleged fake audio, which reportedly triggered debates online about misinformation, AI-generated content, and digital accountability in Nigeria.
