A family in Bobasi, Kisii county, has been thrown into mourning following the death of their 36-year-old son, Vincent Osiemo, popularly known as Mapinduzi.

Mapinduzi died after reportedly falling from a moving vehicle that was part of the convoy for the Linda Mwananchi political rally organised by the opposition in Kisii.
The incident allegedly occurred after goons attacked the convoy, pelting the vehicles with stones.
Videos captured at the scene showed vehicles in the convoy speeding away in an attempt to escape the attack and prevent further injuries as the alleged goons, armed with clubs and stones, descended on them.

The 36-year-old reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained in the fall, leaving his family heartbroken as they struggled to come to terms with his sudden and tragic death.
The family has called on the government to ensure justice is served by bringing all those responsible to book.
“I have lost my beloved brother. Please tell the government to give him justice. This should start with whoever is in charge at the moment,” said Edward Nyabuto.
A family member, Ascar Burasi, said the killing of young people was a worrying sign ahead of the 2027 General Election, warning that political violence could drag the country back to the dark days of the 2017 post-election unrest.
“The Kenyan youth should know that killing has no value to us. Shedding blood brings no benefit to our nation,” said Ascar.
Vincent Osiemo is survived by his widow and three children.

Speaking to the press, Mapinduzi’s employer, Wilkins Michira, said the deceased was travelling in his patrol vehicle before the fatal incident.
He explained that the convoy had reached Keumbu when the lead vehicle drove over a bump, causing one person to fall.
Sadly, when his own vehicle hit the second bump, the 36-year-old also fell off and sustained severe injuries that later claimed his life.
The father of three was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body was later moved to the mortuary.
Police have since arrested eight suspects in connection with his death. Meanwhile, Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Zaheer Jhanda was taken in to record a statement with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) handling the case.
Opposition leaders condemned the incident, with former Chief Justice David Maraga calling for the resignation of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
“Lives have been lost, people have sustained injuries, and this is a very shameful reflection on the security apparatus of this country,” said Kitutu Masaba MP Obadiah Barongo.
