Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of violating ceasefire agreement.
Pezeshkian said this on Sunday during a phone conversation with Pakistan’s prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, earlier on Sunday.
This was as he condemned the US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian government, in a post on X, said Pezeshkian called the naval blockade a clear violation of the ceasefire understanding and contrary to the UN Charter.
Meanwhile, the Iranian judiciary’s Mizan news agency also reported Sunday that Pezeshkian alleged bullying and unreasonable behavior by the United States during negotiations and the ceasefire.
According to the report, Pezeshkian warned Pakistani Prime Minister that the US actions and threatening rhetoric have led to increased suspicion among Iranian officials about the seriousness of the Americans and the possibility that it will repeat previous patterns and betray diplomacy.
“The US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is a violation of ceasefire agreement,” he said.
However, the report did not say whether Iran’s president commented on a second round of talks in Pakistan, or on President Trump’s announcement that US forces had fired at and seized an Iranian-flagged ship
