The lawmaker representing Wase Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, has voiced support for the ongoing economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing them as necessary steps toward securing Nigeria’s long-term stability and progress.
Wase, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (2019–2023) and a fifth-term federal lawmaker, said although the reforms have come with temporary hardships, they are important for building a stronger future for the country. He also commended efforts by the federal government to address insecurity, noting that the administration has shown determination in tackling inherited national challenges.
According to him, the Tinubu administration has demonstrated commitment to improving the economy and strengthening key sectors, particularly security and social development, despite global economic pressures. He added that the President’s policy direction reflects “resilient and purposeful stewardship” aimed at restoring confidence and hope among Nigerians.
Wase also praised the administration of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, highlighting what he described as visible progress in infrastructure and inclusive development across the state.
He cited key projects under Mutfwang’s leadership, including urban renewal initiatives, road construction and rehabilitation, the introduction of the Metro Bus transport scheme to ease movement within the Jos–Bukuru axis, and improvements in healthcare facilities such as upgrades to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital. He further noted investments in education through school renovations and agricultural development through better rural access roads in areas including Bassa, Wase, and Langtang.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his support for both the federal and state administrations, pledging continued cooperation to promote peace, development, and unity.
“We remain committed to working hand-in-hand with you to guarantee a prosperous, peaceful and united Nigeria, and a secure and flourishing Plateau State,” he said.
