Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has testified in support of activist and politician Omoyele Sowore in his ongoing cyberbullying trial involving the Department of State Services (DSS).
Following the court proceedings, Sowore disclosed that the defence had opened its case, describing the day’s session as a major breakthrough.
“We opened our defence today, it was a blockbuster.”
During the hearing, Adeyanju reportedly tendered an old video of President Bola Tinubu in which he urged Nigerians to criticise and insult him if he failed to deliver while in office.
The video was presented as part of the defence’s case in the ongoing trial.
Sowore is facing charges filed by the DSS over allegations of cyberbullying. The activist has consistently maintained his innocence and has continued to challenge the case in court.
The latest development has sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians sharing their views on the court proceedings.
