“What my husband did to me when I got higher pay than him” – Blessing Obasi spills (Video)

Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi has praised her husband, Stan Nze, for his unique qualities.

While on the Morayo Afolabi show, she disclosed that in 2017, the owners of the Castle and Castle movie offered her N600k as her pay, and she was so excited. She said she told her husband, who was her boyfriend at that time, and rather than discourage her, he encouraged her.

She said he looked at her, held her hands, prayed for her and told her she is a star and this is just the beginning. Blessing said that despite Stan’s pay being 100k and her earning more than him, he prayed for her from his heart and reminded her of how great she is.

“In 2017, the owners of Castle and Castle movie offered me 600k as my pay, and I was so excited”

“When I told my husband, who was still my boyfriend at the time. He looked at me, held my hands, prayed for me and told me I am a star and this is just the beginning”

“My husband’s highest pay at that time for a role was 100k, and I was going to earn more than him, but he prayed for me from his heart and reminded me how great I am”.

Following her role in Mo Abudu’s Blood Sisters, Stan Nze had hailed her, saying he couldn’t recognise her on screen, and if he didn’t know her, he would have thought she had been in prison before. Stan appreciated her for putting in the work, being intentional, and sacrificing so the world could experience premium entertainment.

Overwhelmed by the outpouring of praise, she expressed gratitude, saying that their support means more than they know.

Bimbo Ademoye shared her experience working with Blessing for the first time. Calling her a queen and more, she noted that Blessing had just one scene, made a statement, and added the space where love lives.

Mercy Johnson had hailed her over her acting skills. She declared Blessing a powerful act, revealing her great impression of her performance.

In a recent interview, Blessing recalled how she was body-shamed and mocked over her appearance while celebrating her first anniversary. She revealed that when Stan first posted her photo online, many questioned their relationship, claiming she looked ten years older than him.

Stan Nze got married to his older colleague, Blessing Obasi, in 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child, a boy, in 2023.

Opening up on the stigma of late marriage, Mrs Stan Nze revealed that it wasn’t just a choice for her but a break free from societal norms that wanted to dictate her happiness. She noted how the pressure and stigma were like unwelcome shadows, and how the world often equates a woman’s worth with her marital status.

That wasn’t the first time the movie star has addressed her late marriage.

In 2022, Blessing Obasi stated that when it comes to matters of the heart, age is just a number. She revealed that she never thought she would end up marrying her colleague because she thought men in the entertainment industry were unfaithful, but her husband proved her wrong.
