Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde has disclosed that filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele missed his wedding to his wife, Toyin, because she was busy promoting her film, which was released around the same time as his ceremony.
eelive.ng reports that Makinde recently married his wife, Toyin, with Akindele noticeably absent. Makinde also did not appear in Akindele’s recent film, ‘Behind the Scenes’, or attend its premiere.
In a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, Makinde explained that Akindele was busy promoting her film when he was getting married.
“We all know that Funke Akindele is a very busy person, and someone who really holds her craft very dear to her. So, It is very understandable if she missed my wedding for her film,’’ he clarified.
Makinde also dismissed the claims that he had a fallout with Funke Akindele, stressing that the obvious distance between them stems from growth.
Tobi Makinde has openly shared his gratitude and affection throughout his journey to marriage. In October, the Jenifa’s Diary star announced his engagement, happily saying he had left the singles’ club. He also thanked his partner for bringing peace into his life and loving him as he is.
Before their wedding, Makinde posted affectionate moments with his wife, expressing gratitude to God and excitement for their future together. In a heartfelt letter, he called her an incredible woman and thanked her for being part of his life and choosing him each day.
