A married woman has shared her emotional ordeal after taking revenge on her husband over a suspected affair, only to later discover that her assumptions were wrong.
In a detailed account, the woman explained that she secretly checked her husband’s phone and found evidence suggesting he had been sending money to another woman and meeting with her.
Believing he was cheating, she chose not to confront him but instead carried out a retaliatory affair, a decision she said was influenced by a prior warning she had given him earlier in their relationship about infidelity.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when her husband later presented messages revealing that the woman in question was actually a struggling church member whose husband had abandoned her and their children.
According to the messages, her husband, alongside their senior pastor, had been offering financial support and helping her learn a skill to survive.
Realizing her mistake, the woman expressed deep regret, stating that she felt ashamed of her actions. She said she has since pleaded with her husband for forgiveness, involving family members and close associates in an attempt to reconcile.
Despite her efforts, her husband has reportedly remained distant, telling her that she has not done enough to earn back his trust, leaving the future of their marriage uncertain.

“Dear Ife, I made a big mistake. I read my husband’s phone and saw that he had been sending money to a woman from church without telling me. They had also met up, but I wasn’t aware. My husband is a pastor but he cheated on me with when we dated in the first year. When he cheated on me that year, I told him that I am from Akwa Ibom and my revenge for cheating is that I will cheat back. So he can’t repeat such.
So when I saw that he was having an affair with that woman, I didn’t say anything to him. I told my best friend what I wanted to do and she said this is the best revenge so I just went and did my own back. And even though I wasn’t ready to let him know, he found out.
Only for my husband to show me the message on his I-Message between him and the lady and the lady with our senior pastor.
The lady I thought he had an affair with, he was giving her money because her husband left her and took the children to Canada and he never returned and stopped sending her money.
The reason my husband didn’t beg me was because the woman begged him to cover her shame. That was why my husband and the senior pastor had been sending her money and paying for her to learn tailoring. I felt so stupid. I only checked his WhatsApp. I didn’t know that there was anything in his I-Message and all the conversations was there.
I have shamed myself and I told my husband that I’m willing to do anything to make him forgive me. I have begged. I have cried. I’ve reported myself to his friends and parents. He said I have not done enough. That if I want the marriage back I know what to do and he won’t be the one to tell me….”
