Controversial street-pop singer Portable has reacted to comments made by rapper Ycee over the trending “Olodo Uprising” and Peller culture debate.
Ycee had criticised Nigerians for prioritising TikTok-style content and the influence of content creator Peller, arguing that it reflects a decline in appreciation for education, music, and intellectual creativity.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on June 25, Portable fired back, accusing Ycee of wrongly targeting Peller instead of addressing his own career struggles.
He argued that the rapper did not blame others during his successful years, but is now doing so because his career is no longer at its peak.
“The time when Ycee was reigning, he didn’t blame another man. When life dey sweet, you no blame another man and another man no blame you, but now that his life is bitter, he’s now blaming Peller.”
Portable described Ycee’s comments as coming from bitterness rather than genuine concern, questioning why he was not focusing on personal improvement or spiritual growth.
“You no fit beg God for grace? Small pikin you dey say because he no go school na him make am dey do like that. You wey go school wetin you use your money do? How many car you get?”
He also defended Peller, insisting that success should not be tied strictly to formal education, adding that different paths can lead to achievement.
The Zeh Nation boss further claimed he has achieved more material success despite not completing school and boasted about his lifestyle compared to the rapper.
“Me that I dropped out of school, I get glory pass you. I get cars pass you. If you wan blow your drowning career, come feature me, pay N10 million make I help you blow your career.”
