The long-running paternity dispute between Nigerian socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest and Kenyan woman Hellen Ati has resurfaced on social media after she claimed that her child was ill and again called on the celebrity barman to take responsibility for the child she alleges is his son.
Hellen Ati’s latest appeal drew sympathy from many social media users, with several people urging Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, to address the matter and agree to a DNA test.
Responding to the growing criticism, Cubana Chief Priest dismissed the calls and accused some social media users of attempting to exploit his wealth and fame.
“Celebrity no suppose get shame. Shebi na my money una dey hustle like this. One thing na to make money another thing na to protect am from urchins like you people,” he wrote.
The nightlife entrepreneur further insisted that anyone claiming to have a child for him should bring the child directly to him instead of making videos online.
“If you have a child for me too, bring it to any of my outlets or my residence. If you born for person, bring am to the person, no use am dey do video,” he added.
Social media user urges DNA test
Amid the exchanges, an Instagram user identified as @emem_kemskelly_ukem criticised the prolonged dispute and urged the businessman to submit to a DNA test.
“Go and do DNA Pascal. This rubbish is too bad on your image as a well-known person. Even on your family too. This DNA thing should have been done since before it escalated to this level. Una no get any atom of shame,” the user wrote.
In response, Cubana Chief Priest expressed willingness to undergo a DNA test but suggested it should be conducted publicly.
“Make Una help me bring her and the child for una studio make I come there come do the DNA for una on live TV for free,” he replied.
Hellen Ati reacts to live TV proposal
However, Hellen Ati reacted to the proposal, alleging that Cubana Chief Priest had previously promised to take a DNA test but failed to follow through.
“Pascal, you are saying that I should go and do DNA on a live TV station yet this is what you said in Ebuka live last year that you will do the DNA yet you run away, so you think this one is a joke. Pascal, we will die here together. I will never back down until the DNA is conducted,” she said.
