Controversial entertainer, Speed Darlington, has sparked reactions online after openly criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the current state of the nation.
In a viral statement shared on social media, the singer questioned Tinubu’s eligibility for a second term, citing economic hardship and policy decisions.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you’re seeking a second term, but based on your first tenure alone, you’re not qualified. We already know your second term will be wørse,” he said.
He went further to criticize the removal of fuel subsidy, arguing that it has worsened the economic situation for many Nigerians.
“The first major decision you made was removing the fuel subsidy, and now business owners are using it as an excuse to expløit customers. When you look around, you’ll see people are truly struggling,” he added.
Speed Darlington also raised concerns about government borrowing and taxation.
“You’ve borrowed billions, and in the end, it’s the citizens who will suffer through increased taxes. The charges deducted from my earnings are outrageous,” he said.
He concluded with a jab at supporters of the administration, stating, “All these your Cityboy movement people, they can’t travel to home without security, nobody love them.”
The remarks have since generated mixed reactions across social media, with some Nigerians agreeing with his views while others dismissed his comments.
One user, @MondayCaroline, wrote, “In a sane country Tinubu is not suppose to contest for any government position again.”
