Zamfara: NDC group faults Gov Lawal over insecurity, economic hardship

A support group of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Zamfara State has criticised Governor Dauda Lawal over what it described as poor leadership, alleging that unfulfilled promises, insecurity and economic hardship have affected the state.

The group, known as the Integrity Group, made the allegations in a statement issued by its chairman, Muhammad Lawal, on Tuesday in Gusau.

The group accused the state government of failing to fulfil some of its promises to the people, while expressing concern over insecurity and economic hardship in the state.

“We are critics of the present state government; they have failed to fulfil promises, and insecurity and economic hardship have all bedevilled the state,” it said.

The group also warned against election rigging during the 2027 general elections, saying the polls would be closely monitored across Zamfara State.

It said the monitoring would be aimed at ensuring that the electoral process was conducted without malpractice.
