A viral claim that the newly commissioned ₦8.52 billion Lameco Flyover in Osogbo caved in just weeks after its commissioning has sparked widespread reactions online. However, the visible damage shown in videos and photos appears to be limited to a section of the bridge approach or pavement, not a collapse of the flyover’s main structure.
The Lameco Flyover, one of seven major infrastructure projects approved by the Osun State Government, was constructed at a cost of ₦8.52 billion and commissioned recently.
Photos circulating online show cracks on part of the road surface, with some social media users claiming the bridge had suffered a structural failure. The claims quickly generated debate, with many questioning the quality of the project and the contractor responsible.
Reacting to the development, Jeleel Abayomi Akeredolu wrote, “Davido just waka pass like say nothing happened.”
