2027: “I’ll be your next governor, you don’t have…” — Doris Ogala tells people of Abia State

Nollywood actress and the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State election, Doris Ogala, has declared that she will become the state’s next governor, insisting that her ambition is backed by divine instruction.

Ogala made the remarks in a video that has since gone viral across social media platforms, where she appealed to Abia residents to support her candidacy while expressing confidence that her victory is certain.

In the video, she said:

Vote Doris Ogala as your Governor, you don’t have choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have choice. God has said it, so shall it be. It’s very simple, why don’t you get that?”

The actress maintained that her emergence as Abia’s next governor is divinely ordained, urging voters to rally behind her ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Her declaration has generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users expressing differing opinions about her comments and political ambition.

Reacting to the viral clip, Mitchell questioned the basis of her campaign, writing:

He that lacks vision n direction isn’t hard to knw. No manifesto, the only reason u want to be a governor is bcos according to u God has said it. Rubbish, that we are in democracy, doesn’t mean anyone can just come out to contest, very soon, Portable self go contest 4 governor.”

Another user, Temi, defended Ogala’s right to contest, saying:

“I don’t see any problem here it’s democracy, country wey advance pass us by many miles sef person dress as rubbish bin call himself count bin face, contest for election dem no hold am he even get votes and still vying for top position for country so….”

Uzoma also criticized the actress’s reference to divine approval, commenting:

Alot of people are now using God to lie.. now God said so… Don’t be decieve almighty creator is not mocked.. and if you no win, it means your God lie … Hope you concur madam..”

Dozie, in a sarcastic reaction, wrote:

Madam Doris, God spoke to you abi? Abeg ask am when electricity go come Abia and when our youth go stop running to Canada. This one na direct line from heaven or network issue? Abia no be Jerusalem abeg.”

Remi Sunday also weighed in, saying:

No be this pastor side chick be this? Abia state governorship isn’t a joke where preeq hunters come to play, go and rule over Chris Okafor fess.”
