2027: Lagos APC Targets Non-Indigene Voters, Appoints Igbokwe To Mobilisation C’ttee

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a Contact and Mobilisation Sub-Committee on Ethnic Nationality ahead of the 2027 general elections, with former Special Adviser Joe Igbokwe among its members.

Lagos State Deputy Chief of Staff, Sam Egube, chaired the inaugural meeting of the sub-committee, which is the first dedicated structure established by the party to engage non-indigenous residents and ethnic nationality groups in the state.

The committee is tasked with mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu, Lagos governorship candidate Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

Egube, who heads the sub-committee, in a statement on Tuesday, said the team would coordinate engagements with ethnic groups, build relationships with community leaders and associations, and identify issues affecting different communities.

He said the committee would also organise meetings, engage residents in multiple languages and address community-specific concerns.

Egube said the assignment required more than simply gathering people, stressing the need to listen to communities and build meaningful relationships with their leaders and associations.

According to him, the engagement would help the APC contribute to victory for Tinubu, Hamzat and other party candidates in 2027.

“This assignment calls for more than bringing people into a room.

“For the first time, our campaign has a dedicated sub-committee to bring this work together. We need to listen carefully, build relationships with community leaders and associations, and understand the issues people want us to address.

“By doing that work well, we can play our part in securing victory for President Bola Tinubu, Dr Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates in 2027,” Egube said.
