Veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu, has categorically stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will secure a landslide victory across the entire northern region of the country in the 2027 presidential election, News.ng reports.
Momodu made this statement during a recent podcast.
Recall that in May, Atiku emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after defeating Rotimi Amaechi, a former Governor of Rivers State, and another aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
Momodu emphatically stated that Atiku will secure 25% of the votes in all 19 northern states.
He said, “There is no part of the North that Atiku will not get twenty-five percent. There is none, and we’re talking of nineteen. Whether in the North Central, North East, or North West.”
According to the ADC chieftain, people will begin to realign with Atiku once they notice that he is edging toward electoral victory.
He added that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, who is also in the race on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), will lose more support because he was previously in the ADC before defecting to another party.
“And then he will get majority votes. Uh, he’s not looking for twenty-five percent in those places. He will lock down the entire North. And you see, once people realize that he has a path to victory, a lot of people will migrate to him. The person that will lose out in all this is Peter Obi,” he added.
However, this news platform recalls that in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku won nine of the 19 northern states in the country.
