2027: Zamfara APC strengthens internal cohesion ahead of elections

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State have emphasised internal cohesion and adherence to party processes ahead of the 2027 general elections, following a high-level meeting in Gusau.

The meeting, held on Saturday at the Government House, brought together key party figures, including former governors, lawmakers, and other stakeholders to review preparations for forthcoming political activities.

A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, read by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, said stakeholders agreed on the need for peaceful, transparent, and inclusive conduct of party congresses and primary elections in line with established guidelines.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening the party’s structure at the grassroots level across wards and local government areas.

Stakeholders urged members to maintain unity and resolve internal differences through established party mechanisms as preparations for the elections gather momentum.

Discussions at the meeting also touched on security concerns in the state, with a call for improved collaboration between communities and security agencies.

The stakeholders also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal as the party’s preferred candidates for the 2027 elections.
