55-Year-Old Man Escapes Death As Moving Train Destroys His Honda Car In Lagos

A 55-year-old man has escaped unhurt after a moving train collided with his Honda car at the PWD railway crossing in Lagos State.

The incident occurred on Friday morning, October 9, as the train travelled towards Agege. The collision left the Honda car, with registration number EKY 902 JT, extensively damaged. However, the driver survived without any reported injuries, and no casualties were recorded.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said its operatives, working alongside security personnel, rescued the driver and removed the wrecked vehicle from the railway tracks, allowing the train to continue its journey.

The damaged car was subsequently handed over to security personnel for investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Traffic congestion also persisted around the PWD axis following the incident.

LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, urged motorists to exercise caution around railway crossings, warning them against attempting to cross when a train is approaching or already in motion.
