Access Holdings Plc has announced the retirement of Olanrewaju Bamisebi as Executive Director, Information Technology and Digitalisation, following the expiration of his term contract.
The company said the retirement would ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Corporate Governance Guidelines for Financial Holding Companies in Nigeria.
Under the guidelines, a financial holding company is permitted to have a maximum of two executive directors: the managing director/chief executive officer and one other executive director, who must be the chief financial officer, subject to the CBN’s approval.
Access Holdings said its board appreciated Mr Bamisebi’s contributions to the digital transformation and growth of the Access Group during his tenure.
“The Board expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. Bamisebi for his dedicated service and contributions to the digital transformation and growth of the Access Group during his tenure and wishes him every success in his future endeavours,” the notice stated.
With over 20 years in IT and digitalization, Mr Bamisebi oversaw the group’s digital strategy across 19 countries and serving over 68 milLion customers.
His track record includes pioneering solutions in mobile money, payment gatewayS, telco/fintech convergence, and marketplaces.
He actively contributes to various technology and industry advisory boards and supports non-profits advancing talent in science, technoLogy, Machine Learning, and AI.
