A Nigerian woman has shared her experience after checking the value of Dangote shares she said she bought in 2007.
The woman shared receipts of the investment while reacting to VeryDarkMan’s recent video about Dangote shares.
According to her, she decided to check the investment after 16 years and was surprised to discover that the value was around ₦35,000.
She said she had expected the shares to generate a much better return after being held for so many years.
She wrote:
“After watching VDM’s video about Dangote shares, I want to share my own experience. I bought Dangote shares back in 2007. Fast-forward 16 years, I decided to check how much my investment had grown, only to discover that the value was around N35,000. Honestly, I was shocked because, after holding those shares for so many years, I expected a much better return”
The woman also shared receipts relating to the purchase as evidence of the investment.
Her experience has since sparked reactions online, with some users questioning the returns from long-term investments in Nigerian stocks and others discussing whether they would still invest their money in shares.
