Veteran Nollywood star Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has shared his thoughts about reaching a new milestone age.
The celebrated actor, who marked his 65th birthday on Monday, took to Instagram to reflect on the occasion. In a lighthearted post, RMD responded to the popular saying that “age is just a number,” suggesting that turning 65 is no small achievement.

In other news… A 25-year-old medical doctor, Wisdom Oghenetega Enakirerhi, has reportedly died after his request for a three-week sick leave while serving as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was allegedly denied, sparking outrage and calls for improved welfare for young medical professionals.
According to reports, Dr. Enakirerhi fell seriously ill during his service year and repeatedly sought permission to take sick leave so he could receive proper medical care. However, his request was allegedly turned down for about three weeks.
The incident was made public by Dr. Akpoyibo, who shared details of the case on social media.
“A 25-year-old medical doctor who spent 7 years in medical school, completed a one-year internship, and was serving in the NYSC was sick, asked for permission for good three weeks’ leave, but he was not granted permission and now he is dead.”
According to the report, the young doctor’s father and brother are both medical doctors and had reportedly requested that he be allowed to return home for treatment.
“Funny enough the father and brother of this young man are doctors. They asked that he should be allowed to come home for care but they refused.”
The report further alleged that permission was eventually granteed only a few days before his death.
The incident has generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing grief while calling for an investigation into the matter and improved welfare policies for corps members, particularly those serving in the healthcare sector.
