Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that all his children supported Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.
Wike made the disclosure on Monday during an interview on TVC, where he discussed the political circumstances that influenced voters during the 2023 election.
According to him, the controversy surrounding the All Progressives Congress’ Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket and concerns about Christianity contributed to his children’s decision to support Obi.
“In 2023, there was a problem with the Muslim-Muslim ticket. There was this campaign about Christianity. All my children supported Peter Obi. But now, they are saying that they never knew this man, Peter Obi, was like this.
“There are a lot of people who were carried away, but that is no longer there now. Tinubu has been able to kill the Muslim-Muslim ticket problem,” Wike said.
Wike further argued that the political circumstances surrounding the 2023 election had changed and maintained that Obi, who is now running under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), cannot win the 2027 presidential election.
He also questioned Obi’s ability to repeat his 2023 performance in parts of the South-South and South-East, arguing that the factors that contributed to his previous support base were no longer the same.
