Apostle Femi Lazarus has sparked reactions online after speaking about marriage, submission and the responsibility of men to raise boys to understand their roles in the family.
The preacher warned against wives controlling their husbands, insisting that women who are unwilling to submit should not get married.
He said, “Any home that the woman is controlling the husband, curse is the land. If you are not going to submit, don’t marry.”
Lazarus also criticised men who embrace what he described as a distorted idea of being “woke”, particularly those who accept wives openly rejecting submission.
He said, “If you’re not going to submit, don’t marry. And if you’re a man, that your definition of being a woke man is that the lady is telling to your face that I don’t submit to no one, and say, Yeah, let’s go. Hey, wicked. You’ve got no balls. You were not taught to be a man.”
He further said, “We need more men teaching boys how to be men, not some sissies walking about.”
According to the preacher, biblical instructions on marriage should not be altered.
He stated, “Don’t twist what the Bible instituted. The Word is the Word. Love your wife. Wife, submit to your husband. That’s the culture.”
Lazarus also warned that the breakdown of family structures could affect children, saying, “When the land is cursed, the offspring comes out cursed. So children come dysfunctional.”
He further raised concerns about what he described as attempts to “emasculate boys”, referencing Pharaoh’s command to kill male children and arguing that society needs stronger men to guide the next generation.
