The All Progressives Congress, APC, Primary Election Committee in Borno State has declared the House of Representatives primary election for Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency inconclusive.
The Chairman of the committee, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the APC secretariat in Maiduguri on Sunday.
Erue said the decision followed a complaint submitted by one of the aspirants, Audu Garba Zali.
He explained that the committee would await the report of the appeal committee before announcing the final result for the constituency.
The committee, however, announced results for other federal constituencies in the state.
According to Erue, direct primary elections were conducted in Bama/Ngala/Kalabalge and Maiduguri Metropolitan federal constituencies, where Mustapha Abdullahi and Abdulkadir Rahis emerged winners with 20,509 and 38,576 votes, respectively.
He also said five aspirants emerged through consensus arrangements.
They include Usman Zanna for Magumeri/Kaga/Gubio Federal Constituency, Kaumi Umara Zulum for Dikwa/Konduga/Mafa, Ahmed Satomi for Jere, Ahmed Jaha for Gwoza/Chibok/Damboa, and Fati Kakenna for Mobbar/Guzamala/Abadam/Kukawa Federal Constituency.
In addition, Bukar Talba of Monguno/Marte/Nganzai Federal Constituency and Mukhtar Betara Aliyu of Biu/Bayo/Kwaya Kusar/Shani Federal Constituency secured the party’s tickets unopposed.
Erue said the committee monitored the primaries across the 27 local government areas and 312 wards in the state.
He added that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies observed the exercise.
