Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has warmed hearts online after pulling off a surprise reunion with her close friend and makeup artist, La Cici, in Toronto, Canada.
The emotional reunion came nearly a decade after the two friends last saw each other in person.
Ademoye and La Cici reportedly became friends during their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) days at the Paiko camp in Minna. Despite living in different countries over the years, they have managed to maintain their close friendship.
While Ademoye stayed in Nigeria and continued to establish herself in Nollywood, La Cici relocated to Toronto, where she built a career as a professional makeup artist.
Ademoye recently travelled to Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) screening of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives. However, she decided to make the trip even more memorable by secretly arranging to see her longtime friend.
To prevent La Cici from discovering the surprise, Ademoye reportedly arranged the makeup booking through their mutual friend, Halima. Halima pretended to be someone visiting Toronto for a wedding and contacted La Cici about providing makeup services for four days.
A deposit was subsequently paid, with La Cici having no idea that her mystery client was actually her longtime friend.
When La Cici arrived at the hotel expecting to meet a stranger, she was stunned to find Bimbo Ademoye waiting for her.
The unexpected reunion quickly became emotional as the two friends embraced tightly after almost 10 years apart. Ademoye could be heard repeatedly telling her friend, “I got you,” as La Cici struggled to process the surprise.
Amid the emotional moment, Ademoye jokingly warned her friend, “If you cry, I will beat you,” sending both women into laughter as they continued hugging and celebrating their long-awaited reunion.
The heartwarming moment has since attracted reactions from fans, with many touched by the actress’s thoughtful effort to reconnect with her longtime friend.
