The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has paid tribute to Morocco following the Atlas Lions’ elimination from the FIFA World Cup, praising the team’s contribution to African football.

In a message posted on its official social media platforms, CAF wrote: “The journey ends. The standard you set will forever remain. Thank you, Morocco.”

The statement came after Morocco’s World Cup campaign ended in the quarter-finals, bringing to a close another impressive run by the North African side on the global stage.

CAF’s message recognised Morocco’s achievements and the benchmark the team has set for African football, thanking the Atlas Lions for their efforts and impact throughout the tournament.
