A woman identified as Ezinne Frank Nwanorue has publicly apologised to her husband after facing widespread backlash over a viral post in which she celebrated the death of her mother-in-law.
The controversy began after Ezinne shared a Facebook post following the death of her husband’s mother, Comfort Chika Nwanorue, making a series of disturbing remarks about the deceased.
In the now-viral post, she wrote, “One wicked witch is down: my dead mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue; rest in pieces in hell with other dead witches; your members will soon join you.”
She also claimed, “I am the weapon fashioned against all the witches and wizards and all the evil people in the world; you all shall go down in my hands.”
The post further alleged that her late mother-in-law and others had tried to frustrate her destiny, adding, “These people have dealt with me in this life; they found out about my destiny, and they did everything within their power to bring me down.”
Following the intense criticism that trailed her remarks, Ezinne shared another message directed at her husband, pleading for forgiveness.
“Please, my dear husband, I’m very sorry for the post I made about your late mum. Please forgive me,” she wrote.
The apology comes after earlier reports claimed the woman had previously accused her late mother-in-law of making her husband swear an oath over infidelity before they relocated to Canada, a claim that sparked widespread debate online.
The latest development has generated fresh reactions on social media, with many questioning the sincerity of the apology while others expressed sympathy for her husband.
