The order was granted on Thursday by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie following an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), transferring ownership of the assets to the Federal Government.
The forfeited assets comprise jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.293 billion, as well as $50,000 and N30 million in cash.
Achimugu first drew widespread public attention in January 2024 when she hosted an elaborate week-long celebration of her 50th birthday on the Caribbean Island of Grenada. The event attracted prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry and other notable personalities.

However, her fortunes changed more than a year later when the EFCC declared her wanted over allegations of money laundering.
She was subsequently arrested by the anti-graft agency on April 29, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The latest forfeiture order comes months after a Federal High Court in Abuja, in March 2026, ordered the final forfeiture of $13 million allegedly linked to Achimugu and her company, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd.
In that ruling, Justice Emeka Nwite held that the EFCC had successfully established that the funds were proceeds of fraud.
Following the judgment, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd announced that it had commenced the process of appealing the court’s decision.
The businesswoman has also been at the centre of reports alleging political backing amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the funds and assets linked to her, although no court has made any finding on those allegations.
