Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged aspiring musicians to remain committed to God even after achieving fame and success.
The singer gave the advice during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, stressing that while hard work and self-belief are essential, staying close to God is just as important because the entertainment industry is full of distractions.
His comments come amid a trend where several celebrities, particularly Christians, have openly admitted that they stopped attending church after becoming famous.
Sharing his advice, Davido said, “My advice for up-and-coming artistes, is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me.
He further encouraged rising artistes to remain grounded in their faith despite success, saying, “Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget he is the reason you are here.”
