“Don’t Turn Toluwanisings’ Death Into Another Mohbad Saga”- Laolu Gbenjo Warns

Gospel singer Laolu Gbenjo has appealed to the family of late singer Toluwanisings not to allow controversies surrounding his death to escalate, warning against a repeat of the situation that followed the death of Afrobeat singer Mohbad.

Laolu made the appeal while speaking at a Night of Tribute held in honour of Toluwanisings on Tuesday. The event was attended by several of the late singer’s colleagues, who gathered to celebrate his life and legacy.

During his speech, Laolu described Toluwanisings as a kind-hearted individual who maintained good relationships with people and remained committed to serving God.

He also expressed concern over the activities of content creators who allegedly spread unverified information about the singer’s death, urging them to stop circulating rumours for online attention.

According to him, Toluwanisings was friendly with everyone and was not someone who associated with people merely to pass the time.

Laolu said, “You can never see Toluwanisings in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwanisings into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job.”

The gospel singer’s remarks come amid concerns about how information surrounding Toluwanisings’ death is being discussed on social media, with his appeal highlighting the need for restraint and respect for the deceased and his family.
