Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared his support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji while reaffirming his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at a public event, Fayose said his presence alone signalled his commitment to what he described as the “Ekiti agenda,” stressing that his support for the governor transcends party lines.

He made it clear that he would not defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), but insisted that as a political leader, he must prioritise the unity and progress of Ekiti State above partisan considerations.

Fayose also noted that despite being in the opposition, now is not the time for political division, adding that opposition politics would resume after the next election cycle.

He emphasised that all former governors in the state are united in their backing for Governor Oyebanji, describing the move as necessary to sustain stability and development in Ekiti.
