Friends Demand Justice For Slain Ogun Woman, Urge Police To Intensify Probe

The Friends of Kitan Oyesiku have called on the Ogun State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing of their associate, describing her death as “cruel and senseless.”

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Oluwaseun Boye on behalf of the group, the friends said the deceased, Kitan Oyesiku, was a “peaceful, kind-hearted and compassionate woman” whose life was cut short unjustly.

The group urged the Ogun State Police Command to sustain the ongoing investigation and ensure that all those connected to the killing are identified, arrested and prosecuted.

They commended the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, and officers of the command for steps taken so far, but stressed the need for greater urgency and diligence.

“We appreciate the commitment shown by the police authorities and encourage them to sustain the momentum until every individual connected with this heinous crime is brought to justice,” the statement read.

The group also appealed to the Ogun State Government not to allow the case to be abandoned, insisting that justice must be served to reassure the public and deter future crimes.

“Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. Bringing the perpetrators to justice will reassure the public that no life is insignificant and that criminal acts of this nature will not go unpunished,” the statement added.

They further urged members of the public to support the investigation by volunteering useful information that could aid law enforcement agencies.

“Any credible information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could provide the breakthrough investigators need,” the group said.

The friends expressed hope that the perpetrators would soon be brought to book, reiterating their demand for justice for the deceased.
