Hezbollah violates ceasefire, fires at IDF troops

After the IDF rushed to describe the incident as a false alarm, the IDF Spokesperson acknowledged that Hezbollah  had violated the ceasefire and fired rockets at Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon.

The IDF also acknowledged that Hezbollah launched a drone toward Israel, but said it did not cross into the Israeli territory.

The full IDF Spokesperson statement said: “The Hezbollah terrorist organization launched several rockets a short while ago at IDF troops operating south of the forward defense line, in the area of Rab al-Thalathine in southern Lebanon.

“Within minutes, the IDF struck the launcher from which the rockets were fired. Contrary to the report of a false identification, a further review indicates that the alerts activated in Kfar Yuval and Maayan Baruch were apparently triggered by the interception of an unmanned aerial vehicle launched from Lebanon before it crossed into Israeli territory. These are blatant violations of the ceasefire agreement.”
