Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his colleague, Alexx Ekubo, joining others in the entertainment industry who have continued to pay tribute to the late actor.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Thursday, June 18, Agu described Ekubo’s death as a heartbreaking loss to the Nigerian film industry, noting that the late actor was exceptionally gifted and committed to his craft.
The veteran actor said he was personally pained by the news, emphasizing that Ekubo’s passion for acting and dedication to storytelling made him stand out in the industry. He added that the actor still had a lot of potential and contributions ahead of him before his untimely passing.
According to Agu, the industry has not only lost a performer but also a creative storyteller whose work and impact will continue to be remembered for years to come.
He also extended his condolences to Ekubo’s family, friends, and loved ones, praying for them to find strength and comfort during the difficult period.
Meanwhile, reports have shown that several Nollywood stars and fans attended the late actor’s funeral ceremonies in his hometown in Arochukwu, Abia State, where emotions ran high as colleagues paid their final respects.
