Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has opened up about losing ₦100,000 after mistakenly transferring money to the wrong bank account.
In a video shared on her social media page, the actress recounted that the incident happened after she visited a salon to have her hair done. Once the hairstylist finished, she requested the business’s account details to make payment.
According to Martins, the salon’s account number was displayed on the wall, so she entered it herself. However, she accidentally omitted one digit while typing the account number, causing the money to be sent to a different recipient.
The actress said she was devastated by the mistake and admitted that she failed to confirm the account name before authorizing the transfer, a step she now wishes she had taken.
Her words…
“I sent money to a wrong account. I went to get my hair done, and after getting my hair done, I asked the stylist’s assistant to call out the account number. She pointed out the account number on the wall. Honestly, the number I saw there is what I typed, but I mistakenly typed one wrong number, and the money went to a different account.
I am in pain. The mistake I made was that I didn’t check the name that popped out”
