Former Big Brother Naija winner, Mercy Eke, has stirred conversations online after opening up about her views on relationships, marriage, and household responsibilities.
The reality TV star revealed that she would not consider dating or marrying a man who expects her to prepare meals for him every day. According to Mercy, she can only cook occasionally when she genuinely feels like doing so.
She made the statement during a recent episode of the Toke Moments podcast hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa, where she shared her personal perspective on what she wants in a relationship.
Mercy explained that cooking regularly for a partner is not a role she wants to take on, adding that anyone who desires freshly prepared meals every day can make other arrangements.
“I can’t marry or date a man who wants me to cook for him regularly. I only cook once in a while when I am in the mood. If you want fresh food every day, hire a chef.
“It can’t be me. Love can never make me cook for a man every day. I’m not the woman for that kind of man. There are other women out there who will gladly do that, which is fine.
“That is why it’s important to marry who has what you are looking for.
“So, if you marry me and you are thinking you don’t eat overnight food, it’s not me. I can’t cook every day,” she said.
Mercy’s comments have since generated mixed reactions, with some fans supporting her honesty while others debated the expectations placed on partners in relationships.
