Nollywood actress and politician Eniola Badmus has sparked conversations across social media after making a bold statement about her financial status during the premiere of The Return of Omotara Johnson.
While speaking on the red carpet, the actress, who also serves as the Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, was asked how she handles periods of financial hardship.
In response, Badmus confidently revealed that she could not relate to the experience.
“I do not even know the meaning of being broke,” she said.
The interviewer went on to ask what wealth means to her, prompting the actress to share her personal definition of financial success.
According to Badmus, being rich goes beyond simply having money. She explained that true wealth is the ability to comfortably afford whatever you desire while also using your resources to positively impact the lives of others.
“To have all the things that you want at your beck and call. When you are comfortable and able to buy whatever you want and also, most importantly, impact on other people’s lives,” she said.
She also emphasized that, in her view, financial prosperity is one of the clearest indicators of success.
Badmus’ remarks have since gone viral, triggering mixed reactions from social media users. While many applauded her confidence and celebrated her achievements, others questioned her perspective on wealth, arguing that financial success can be measured in different ways depending on individual values and life experiences.
