A Nigerian lady has exposed the identity of the man seen touching Alexx Ekubo’s coffin with a ring.
Earlier, concern arose from a viral video shared online that captured the elderly man touching the actor’s coffin with a ring on his finger.
Lady Speaks Out
The lady, who goes by the Facebook handle, Kikky Chukwura, shared her findings after conducting her research.
The lady explained that the elderly man’s actions were part of his professional duties as a member of the Ebonyi Funeral Home.
She then detailed the circumstances that led to him tapping the coffin with his ring, stating, “To check if the coffin was still properly frozen and cold. Because transporting bodies requires long-distance travel and stopovers, funeral directors constantly monitor the cooling to prevent decomposition..The nod he gave after touching the casket was likely an acknowledgment to his colleague“.
Alexx Ekubo’s Burial
Earlier, GistReel reported that the actor was laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State.
The burial ceremony followed a series of emotional funeral rites, including a service of songs held on June 10 at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, and a wake-keep on June 17 at his family home in Arochukwu .
The funeral service took place at Mary Slessor School Field in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, and was attended by family, friends, and prominent figures in the Nollywood industry, including Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, and Yomi Casual.
The actor’s remains were interred at his family compound, with traditional rites performed in accordance with family customs.
It’s worth noting that the actor passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40, after a private battle with metastatic kidney cancer.
