A Nigerian teacher has revealed two touching moments involving Alexx Ekubo’s wife at his burial.
Earlier, GistReel reported that the actor was laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu, Abia State.
Alexx Ekubo’s Death
The movie star was 40 years old when he passed away on May 11, 2026, after battling metastatic kidney cancer.
The funeral service was held at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, followed by interment at his family compound located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State
Teacher Speaks Out
Identified as @OgeDichiVic on X (formerly Twitter), the teacher shared that she wore her husband’s ring alongside hers, then blew him kisses, honoring their wedding vows.
The teacher also sought prayers for the actor’s wife during this difficult time.
Alexx Ekubo’s Biography
During his lifetime, Alexx Ekubo was a Nigerian actor, model, and humanitarian born on April 10, 1986, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.
He hailed from Arochukwu, Abia State, and studied Law at the University of Calabar, later obtaining a degree in Mass Communication from Calabar Polytechnic.
Ekubo’s acting career began with a minor role in Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s Sinners in the House (2003).
He gained national attention after finishing as the first runner-up in the Mr. Nigeria 2010 competition, which led to his breakthrough in Nollywood. Some of his notable films include Weekend Getaway, Lagos Cougars, and Omo Ghetto.
