Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed why he backed Portugal during the FIFA World Cup, saying his support had nothing to do with nationality but with his friendship with football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking during a conversation with Carter Efe, the singer disclosed that he and Ronaldo communicate regularly, adding that they chat frequently. To back up his claim, Davido reportedly showed Carter Efe his private conversation with the Portuguese football icon.
According to Davido, “I supported Portugal at the World Cup because I’m a fan and he’s my friend and we chat back to back.”
