The Federal Government has directed all tertiary institutions across Nigeria to immediately expel any student found guilty of kidn@pping or other related criminal activities after due investigation.
The directive was issued by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, who instructed Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts to take a zero-tolerance approach to criminality on campuses. He also urged institutions to strengthen internal intelligence gathering and work closely with the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to improve safety for students on and off campus.
According to the minister, the measure is part of efforts to strengthen security across tertiary institutions and ensure campuses remain safe environments for learning.
The announcement has sparked reactions from Nigerians on social media.
Reacting, Stephanie Stephy wrote, “Rehabilitate and integrate them back into the society and finally enroll them in military 🤷🤷😏😌.”
