Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has shared an unconventional vision for Nigeria’s leadership, saying his administration would place technology and artificial intelligence at the centre of governance.
Sowore explained that if elected President of Nigeria, he would explore the use of advanced technology in key areas of government, including the economy and national security.
According to him, his proposed approach would be so technology-focused that he would jokingly consider appointing artificial intelligence as Minister of Finance and a drone as Minister of Defence.
“If I become President of Nigeria, I will make AI the Minister of Finance and a drone the Minister of Defence. My Presidency will be about Technology,” Sowore stated.
The comment highlights his emphasis on using emerging technologies to transform how government institutions operate and deliver services to Nigerians.
Sowore has previously been vocal about the need for Nigeria to embrace innovation and modern technology as part of efforts to address longstanding challenges in governance and development.
His latest remark has since generated reactions, with some Nigerians debating the possibilities and limitations of integrating AI and other advanced technologies into government administration.
