“I Was Almost Gone”- Uchenna Nnanna Opens Up On Accident That Nearly Took Her Life

Nollywood actress Uchenna Nnanna has recounted the frightening experience of surviving an accident that nearly claimed her life in 2013.

The actress shared the emotional story during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, where she reflected on the terrifying moments following the incident and the medical efforts made to save her life.

According to Uchenna, the accident occurred on a Monday in 2013 and left her in critical condition. She revealed that doctors placed her on oxygen, administered drips and carried out several treatments as they battled to stabilise her.

“2013 was the first accident I ever had. The accident that almost took my life. It was on a Monday, and they had to put me on oxygen because I was almost going. They put oxygen on me to try to revive me, put drips; they were doing a whole lot. I was in the hospital for three weeks”.

Beyond the physical impact of the accident, Uchenna disclosed that she also experienced deep emotional trauma following the loss of her sisters.

The actress revealed that the tragedy left her with a fear of flying, adding that it took several years before she was able to board a plane again.

“I have a phobia of flights. It took me years to start flying again after I lost my sisters”.

Uchenna further opened up about the pain of losing both parents and becoming an orphan, describing how the experience significantly affected her life.

She also recalled the loss of her father, which happened shortly after her white wedding, and the emotional burden that came with losing him.

“When things are difficult, my mother would always say Mother Mary, would you allow my wine to finish”.
