Apostle Arome Osayi has sparked reactions on social media after making a controversial claim about speaking in tongues and spiritual power.
In a statement circulating on X, the cleric claimed that believers who speak in tongues for a minimum of five hours every day could take up to seven years to “hit power.”
He also claimed that what most believers produce when they speak in tongues is “gas” and that such gas does not destroy demons.
According to him, this is why some ancestral demons remain in people despite their practice of speaking in tongues.
He said:
“If you speak in tongues for long hours, like a minimum of 5 hours per day, it will take you 7 years to hit power. Most believer’s when they speak in tongues, what they produce is gas and the gases doesn’t destroy demons, that’s why some ancestral demons are still in place in the body.”
The statement has generated mixed reactions on X, with several users questioning the basis of the claim and describing it as unsubstantiated.
Others said they disagreed with the teaching, with one user arguing that the claim was not scriptural.
