Nigerian influencer Tomike Adeoye has called on Nigerians to be more considerate when expressing their fears and prayers on social media, particularly under posts mourning the loss of a loved one.
Tomike described it as insensitive for people to comment that they do not want to die or experience a similar tragedy under a post shared by someone grieving a loved one.
According to her, such comments may come across as thoughtless and hurtful to people who are already dealing with the pain of losing someone dear to them.
She urged social media users to be more mindful of the comments they leave online, stressing the importance of showing empathy and offering comfort to grieving individuals rather than making the moment about their personal fears.
Her message has drawn attention to the need for greater sensitivity on social media, especially when people share painful experiences or announce the death of someone close to them.
