Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a minor reshuffle in the state executive council following the resignation of two commissioners seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The changes were announced on Friday in Asaba through a statement issued by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, has been directed to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.
Also affected by the reshuffle is the Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, who will now supervise the Ministry of Youth Development pending further appointments by the state government.
The reshuffle followed the resignation of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, alongside the Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.
Speaking on the development, Aniagwu explained that both former commissioners stepped down from their positions to pursue political ambitions ahead of the next election cycle.
He disclosed that the former cabinet members are preparing to contest seats in the Delta State House of Assembly as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of 2027.
The state government said the new supervisory arrangements take immediate effect and would remain in place pending any further directive from Governor Oborevwori.
Aniagwu added that the governor appreciated the outgoing commissioners for their service and contributions to the administration, noting that they served the state with commitment during their time in office.
