A Lagos dispatch rider has sparked reactions after expressing shock over the prices of flower bouquets, revealing that a small arrangement could cost as much as ₦70,000, while a bigger one reportedly sells for ₦100,000.
According to an account shared by a narrator, the dispatch rider had visited a florist’s shop to pick up a bouquet ordered by a customer when he decided to find out how much the flowers cost.
However, he was left astonished after the florist quoted ₦70,000 for a small bouquet and ₦100,000 for a larger arrangement.
The rider reportedly questioned the high prices, wondering why anyone would spend so much on flowers that would eventually wither after a few days. He was particularly surprised because the cost of the bouquet was reportedly higher than his monthly salary.
In response to his concerns, the florist jokingly told him that love comes at a high price.
The revelation made the dispatch rider handle the delivery with extra caution. He reportedly rode slowly and carefully, worried that any damage to the flowers could leave him responsible for an expensive item.
He even joked that he would have to surrender his entire salary if anything happened to the bouquet before it reached the customer.
However, his worries reportedly disappeared when he arrived at the delivery destination. The female recipient was said to have screamed with excitement upon receiving the flowers, expressing how much she loved the romantic gesture.
The incident has highlighted how differently people perceive money and luxury, as an expensive bouquet that brings happiness to one person could be worth an entire month’s salary to another.
