Man Confronts DESTMA Officer For Allegedly Harassing Parents On School Road

A man has confronted an officer of the Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA) over alleged harassment of parents on a street near a school.

In a video circulating online, the man questioned the officer’s decision to operate on the street, arguing that DESTMA officials were supposed to focus on federal roads rather than apprehending parents dropping off or picking up their children.

“You can’t be doing illegal work. You can’t come to a school road and start apprehending and harassing parents who are dropping off or picking up their children. You’re supposed to work on federal roads, yet you’ve come into the streets,” he said.

The confrontation has drawn attention to concerns about traffic enforcement around schools, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up periods when parents often stop briefly to take their children to or from school.

However, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the specific authority of the officer to operate on the street have not been independently established.
