An adult male was rescued unharmed after becoming trapped in a malfunctioning elevator in a three-storey building on Freeman Street, Zapass, Lagos Island East LCDA, on Tuesday.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said it received a distress call at about 11:50 a.m., prompting the deployment of a rescue team from the Ebute Elefun Fire Station, which arrived at the scene five minutes later.
Firefighters immediately began rescue operations and safely freed the occupant from the elevator without any injuries.
According to the agency, preliminary investigations showed that the incident was caused by an accidental elevator malfunction.
The Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that no casualties were recorded during the operation.
