May Edochie’s Former Lawyer Calls Out Rita Edochie Over Alleged Mob Attack On Judy Austin

Emeka Ugwuonye, a former legal representative of May Edochie, has reacted strongly to the recent court clash involving Nollywood actresses Judy Austin and Rita Edochie.

The development comes after Judy filed a legal suit against Rita, demanding ₦1 billion in damages, a retraction and public apology, among other reliefs. She also reportedly sought ₦50 million in damages and 10 per cent post-judgment interest.

The two women appeared before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Tuesday, where the case was heard before being adjourned to November 24.

While Judy attended the proceedings alone, Rita arrived with a group of supporters, including some fans who reportedly travelled from abroad to stand by her during the court case.

A video from the court premises later surfaced online showing Rita addressing Judy. In the clip, Rita accused Judy of trying to silence her from speaking against women she described as “husband snatchers.”

She also told Judy that she would “cry blood,” while questioning why she was being sued for an amount of money she claimed she had never seen.

Another video showed a crowd gathered outside the court, with some people verbally attacking Judy over her decision to take Rita to court. The crowd could be heard shouting, “Husband snatcher, who is taking her in-law to court?”

Reacting to the incident, Emeka Ugwuonye criticised Rita and accused her of leading the women who allegedly mocked Judy at the court premises.

He further stated that he would report the women involved to the police, alleging that they were supporters of May Edochie. According to him, they should be prepared to leave Abuja or face arrest.

Emeka also expressed satisfaction that the alleged verbal attack against Judy was captured on video.

He said the footage could be presented as evidence in court and potentially used against Rita as the legal battle continues.
